Injury Compensation Calculator

There are lots of different elements that need to be taken into account when calculating the amount of compensation you may be entitled to when claiming for personal injury.  Each case is different and the amount of compensation will depend on the type of accident, the injuries suffered, and the financial loss that the accident may have caused you (i.e. cost of treatment, rehabilitation, lost income, etc.)

The guidelines provided below are only a rough estimate of the amount of compensation you could be entitled to.

Leg Injury

  • Minor leg injury - £1,000 - £3,000
  • Fracture to tibula or fibula with full recovery - £8,000
  • Simple fracture to femur - £8,000 - £12,000
  • Fracture with residual disability (left a gait, impaired mobility) - £8,000 - £15,000
  • Permanent disability, requiring crutches, limited walking ability - £25,000 - £75,000
  • Degloving injury, gross shortening - £42,000 - £100,000
  • Loss of leg, below the knee - £45,000 - £100,000
  • Loss of leg, above the knee - £47,000 - £150,000

Head Injury

  • Minor head injury - £1,500 - £7,000
  • Minor brain damage - £8,500 - £23,500
  • Severe brain damage - £155,000 - £220,000

Nose Injury

  • Simple undisplaced with full recovery - £750 - £3,000
  • Displaced requiring manipulation - £1,250 - £7,500
  • Displaced recovery after surgery - £1,850 - £10,000
  • Serious fractures with permanent damage - £5,000 - £15,000

Cheekbone Injury

  • Simple fracture, minor surgery - £2,000 - £7,500
  • Serious fracture with some permanent damage - £5,000 - £20,000
  • Serious fracture with permanent damage - £8,500 - £25,000

Jaw Injury

  • Simple fracture, some immobilisation, full recovery - £3,000 - £8,500
  • Serious fracture with some permanent damage - £8,500 - £20,000
  • Very serious fracture with permanent damage - £14,000 - £50,000

Neck Injury

  • Minor (Whiplash) - £1,000 - £7,000
  • Moderate (Whiplash) - £3,500 - £25,000
  • Severe (Fractures) - £12,000 - £250,000

Back/Spine Injury

  • Minor (Strains) - £4,250 - £7,500
  • Moderate - £15,250 - £21,500
  • Severe - £55,000 - £93,000

Shoulder Injury

  • Minor, full recovery - £1,000 - £3,500
  • Moderate injury, full recovery - £5,000 - £8,000
  • Serious injury with permanent damage - £8,000 - £15,000

Arm Injury

  • Forearm fracture with some deformity - £3,000 - £35,000
  • Moderate injury - £9,000 - £75,000
  • Severe injury with permanent disability - £18,000 - £150,000
  • Loss of arm Below the elbow - £42,000 - £200,000
  • Above the elbow - £48,000 - £250,000
  • Loss of both arms - £95,000 - £1,000,000

Elbow Injury

  • Minor, full recovery - £1,500 - £3,000
  • Moderate injury, full recovery - £3,000 - £8,000
  • Serious injury with permanent damage - £8,000 - £75,000

Wrist Injury

  • Minor, full recovery - £1,500 - £3,000
  • Moderate injury, full recovery - £3,000 - £8,000
  • Serious injury with permanent damage - £8,000 - £75,000

Hand Injury

  • Minor with full recovery - £1,000 - £3,000
  • Moderate injury, full recovery - £3,000 - £8,000
  • Severe injury with permanent disability - £25,000 - £65,000
  • Effective loss of hand - £42,000 - £850,000
  • Effective loss of both hands - £60,000 - £1,000,000

Finger Injury

  • Injury to fingers - £1,000 - £75,000
  • Injury to thumb - £1,000 - £50,000

Hip/Pelvis Injury

  • Minor - £1,000 - £10,000
  • Moderate - £6,000 - £50,000
  • Severe - £18,000 - £250,000

Knee Injury

  • Minor - £1,000 - £6,000
  • Moderate - £3,000 - £13,500
  • Severe - £13,500 - £47,500

Ankle Injury

  • Minor - £1,000 - £6,000
  • Moderate - £3,000 - £13,500
  • Severe - £13,500 - £35,000

Toe Injury

  • Minor - £1,000 - £4,750
  • Moderate - £3,000 - £6,750
  • Severe - £4,500 - £40,000
